In this course, we will share all of the required components for a compliant Preschool IEP and we'll help you develop best practices that will positively impact early childhood outcomes!

Expected Learning Outcomes
Participants will be able to:

  • Understand requirements and needed information for the IEP cover page, Future Planning, and Extended School Year
  • Understand the compliant components of the Present Level of performance.
  • Understand the required components of compliant Measurable Goals
  • Understand how to accurately conduct and report on progress monitoring,
  • Understand the definitions of and distinctions between Specially Designed Instruction (SDI), Accommodations, Modifications, and Support for School Personnel.
  • Understand what is required and how to document preschool Transportation.
  • Understand how to determine and document the preschool Least Restrictive Environment.

Meet the Instructors

Photo of Dee Dee HowesDee Dee Howes has been a special educator for over 23 years. Before joining SST8, Dee Dee was an Intervention Specialist across all grade levels, a special education supervisor, and a director. She specializes in compliance, instructional and behavioral intervention for students of low incidence, communication, and all other areas of service delivery. Dee Dee is passionate about helping other educators meet the needs of diverse learners.

Photo of Stacey SmithStacey Smith is an Early Learning and School Readiness Consultant for the State Support Team Region 8. She has spent her career working with children and families of young children. Stacey attained a Bachelor degree in Special Education from Ohio University and a Master degree in Educational Administration from Ashland University. Her professional background includes Preschool Special Education teacher, Special Education consultant and Assistant Director for Tri-County Preschool. She has a strong understanding of child development and is passionate about creating opportunities for all children and families to access positive early learning experiences.
